Letter From Our President
A Message from the President of Colorado Baptists

Dear Pastors and Church Leaders:
I am a grateful product of Colorado Baptists. As a teenager growing up in the youth ministry of Vista Grande Baptist Church, I enjoyed many retreats at Ponderosa. As a college student, I led worship for my father’s church plant in Colorado Springs. As a seminary student, I graduated from our very own Rocky Mountain Campus of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. And now, I have the privilege of shepherding God’s flock out on the Eastern Plains at Emmanuel Baptist Church. I am passionate about who we are as Colorado Baptists.
Our state is both geographically and demographically diverse. We have the metropolitan mix of the I-25 corridor, the rugged beauty of the mountain areas, the temperate climate of the western slope, and the wheat and corn fields of the eastern plains. And yet the most striking reality to me is the vast lostness that permeates our state. We are surrounded by people everywhere who need the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ.
As president of our convention, I want to challenge you, as fellow pastors, to lead your church to give like never before to the Colorado Missions Offering in honor of Nicy Murphy this September. As a family of churches, imagine how we can accomplish more together as we cooperate for the advancement of the Kingdom.
Think about the two major interstate highways that traverse our state: 1-25 and 1-70. Here’s a challenge! What if every individual or family in your church committed $25 toward this year’s Colorado Missions Offering! Or even $70 to Colorado Missions! The impact for the Gospel of Christ would be staggering.
The vision of Colorado Baptists is that every person in our state would have the opportunity to hear the gospel and to respond to the love of Christ. The Colorado Missions Offering is one of the major vehicles that can help us see this dream fulfilled. As the Colorado Baptist family, we have a dream to see more churches planted, more ministries started, more people being reached with the Gospel, more baptisms, more healthy congregations, and ultimately the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
Fellow pastor, join me in challenging your church to give like never before to the Colorado Missions Offering! The fields are white unto harvest! Let’s saturate Colorado with the gospel of our Savior and give Him the glory for the opportunity to join Him in redeeming a lost world to Himself.
Cooperating Together for His Glory,
SEAN COLE
