Day 5 - West Greeley Baptist Church

In response to the God’s Plan for Sharing Across Colorado challenge, West Greeley Baptist Church embarked on a plan to pray, promote and empower its membership. They prayed specifically for a two-fold increase in baptisms and a three-fold increase in attendance.

Their church, its message and ministries were intentionally promoted thanks to the Colorado Missions Offering, in honor of a great pioneer missionary, Nicy Murphy. West Greeley communicated the Good News of Christ with card distribution that invited their neighbors to worship with them, sermon broadcasts on the local radio and by hosting a community-wide carnival in order to engage their surrounding neighbors.

As a result of intentional prayer and promotion to take the Gospel to their community, and the congregation being empowered to go and tell, lives within and without the four-walls of the church building were eternally impacted. Over 200 neighbors were reached through the efforts of those within West Greeley’s congregation. People within the community noticed the difference Christ made in the lives of believers. One person that attended their community carnival made a profession of faith for Christ and is now active with the body of Christ. Vacation Bible School enrollment reached a record high and ten children received Christ as their Savior. In addition the community helped raise $650 for the Lighthouse Mission, a local community outreach ministry.

The membership had a great desire and passion for evangelism, so much so that several went through Friendship Evangelism training, taking seriously the Great Commission. Baptisms and attendance have increased within the church body. Twenty-one members went through additional evangelism training through the Share Your Faith Workshop. The desire for evangelism led to the start of Evangelism Explosion ministry in which believers have already led ten people into a relationship with Christ.

West Greeley members recognized that with the continued partnership with the Colorado Baptist Convention and the offerings received through the Colorado Missions Offering, God continues to write His story. Please pray as West Greeley continues pray for and witness to their community. Today, they eagerly anticipate God to continue His work within and without the four-walls of their facility.
