is theological and professional education for ministry. In CPE, pastors, church staff, theological students, and qualified laypeople provide  spiritual care to people in intimate and sometimes critical life situations while being supervised. It focuses on the development of self-awareness, formation of pastoral identity, professional functioning, and the ability to address issues from a competent clinical and pastoral perspective.
