2011 Colorado Missions Offering- Nicy Murphy Offering Review

by CBGC Staff
“It is exciting to see the way Colorado Baptists have responded to the Colorado Missions Offering - Nicy Murphy Offering in a time of economic challenge,” Mark Edlund said in response to the $155,259.21 amount given for the 2011 Colorado Mission Offering.
“God has given us a vision of seeing the State saturated with the Gospel – everyone in the State and passing through the State will have an opportunity to hear the Gospel in such a way they can respond. (2 Peter 3:9) One of our most strategic tools in addressing this challenging vision is the annual Colorado Missions Offering collected in honor of Nicy Murphy. This has been a special year as we celebrated Nicy’s 100th birthday. She now lives in Oklahoma and continues to minister. What a hero of the faith! On behalf of Colorado Baptists I want to thank those that gave generous contributions to the offering. The funds will truly advance the Kingdom in our great State of Colorado.”
Allocations for the 2011 Colorado Missions Offering (CMO) are 35% for Church Grants; 33% for associational grants; and 32% for statewide missions such as Resort Ministries, Disaster Relief, Ponderosa Ministry, and Golden Gate-Rocky Mountain Campus.
Who can apply for CMO funds?
Colorado Southern Baptist Churches, who qualify, may request assistance with a project that exhibits a Gospel-centered strategy and focus on evangelism or church planting. Requests vary…for instance; grants may be to help promote a new church through signage and advertising, assist with facility repairs or evangelism events to reach out in their community such as marriage and parenting programs, sports camps, medical clinics, block parties and park events, maybe even a classic car show.
