The CDA Women’s Retreat: “Just a Closer Walk!”
On November 6-7, 53 women from 11 churches across CDA joined together to celebrate, to pray and to learn more about Kingdom ministry in their own churches. The key-note speaker was Louise Hendley, wife of Bobby Hendley who is the new pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Monte Vista. Louise grew up as an MK (Missionary Kid) in South Korea. She and Bobby also served in northern China with the IMB. Special music was provided by Toni Skinner of Del Norte (Patriot Christian University). Candy Beebe, nurse and wife of Pastor David Beebe led a session

Break-out sessions were led by
Candy Beebe (FBC,Lake City)—“Pathway to a Healthy Lifestyle”
Violet Magee (Calvary, Monte Vista)—“New Directions for Women”
Judy Langley (Gateway, Del Norte)— “Walking Closer Through Writing”
Melissa Archuleta (Lariat Community, Monte Vista)—“Walking In Your Gifting”

The “Prayer Path Adventure” was a highlight of the event. The participants were encouraged to pray alone and with others for CDA, CDA Churches and for Missions around the world.

The group was graciously hosted by Mountain Heights Baptist Church in Buena Vista. Linda Larson, wife of Pastor Dan Larson, worked with her kitchen team to serve the group and provide for the best possible experience for the attendees.
