47 Professions of Faith during VBS Family Night

God has truly blessed First Southern Baptist Church, Lamar during their week of Vacation Bible.

Thursday, July 15 was the Family Night and the church was full. I personally have never seen the church this full (well except for a funeral). The pews were filled with parents and grandparents while the stage and the pulpit area was filled with children. The total number of children last night was 112, so now you can get an idea of just how full our little church was.

When the younger children were presented with the plan of Salvation, there was not much response because they are still too young to understand, but the seed was planted.  The other children were separated into smaller groups after they were presented with the plan of Salvation. One of those groups were children that had already accepted the Lord as their Savior, so they prayed for their friends that were being counseled during that time. When the night had ended there were 47 professions of faith made. Praise the Lord!

This is what Vacation Bible School is all about. Yes, we would like to see some growth in the church from all of this but building the kingdom of God is the main focus.

We were very blessed to have had a team come to Lamar to help us with our VBS. The CPR team was the tornado that blew into this town from the east. They swirled around our community on block party winds picking up children and teaching them as God has commanded us to do and the lives of some of these children will never be the same.

God truly blessed us during Vacation Bible School.
