Who Is More Than Gold?

The principle objective of "More Than Gold" is to provide opportunities for Christian churches and agencies to unite and serve at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This awesome opportunity enables the Christian community to come together to serve and to witness to the people of Vancouver and to those coming from around the world.

It has become a tradition for churches in the Olympic host country to mobilize thousands of volunteers, provide hospitality for families of athletes, offer chaplaincy services, distribute water to spectators, and many other ministry activities.

More Than Gold was designed specifically to serve as an integrated identity for Christian outreach without overstepping any denominational and belief boundaries and at the same time, any existing and established brands, particularly that of institutions such as the Olympic Games.

The More Than Gold theme and logo carries a history that dates back past the 1996 Atlanta Summer Games.  It was developed by the International Sports Coalition in association with the Southern Baptist Convention, a non-profit organization mandated to coordinate the volunteer efforts of the Christian community.

Colorado Baptists have worked with More Than Gold at each of the Olympic Games in which we have participated and as well the 2000 Good Will Games in New York and a few other major sporting events.
